DJ Stat (pronouns: they/them) curates music for the people bringing an eclectic mix of house, hip hop, pop edits, and other genres to their sets. As a queer, non-binary, Japanese mixed race artist and organizer, dj stat is passionate about lifting up the stories and beats of their communities. With an audiophile dad, it was a rite of passage to get their vintage hifi stereo set up as a teenager. dj stat bought their first set of dj gear in 2009 and has been heavily influenced by Detroit’s music scene.

Over the years, dj stat has played a variety of community events, fundraisers, and house parties primarily reaching communities of queer, trans, Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) in Denver. They’ve played events including Damn Gurl!, Queer/Crush, and fundraisers for several activist organizations. dj stat mobilizes dollars as Crystal Middlestadt, Executive Director of the Chinook Fund, a community foundation in Denver.
